Sankofa is a powerful West African concept meaning “to go back and fetch what is valuable.” At the Sankofa Faith Children’s Initiative, we reclaim and uplift the sacred worth of our children by centering them in the life of the church - not as future members, but as fully present participants in worship, prayer, and community.

The Yvette A. Flunder Foundation has received a generous grant to launch the Sankofa Faith Children’s Initiative. This initiative is part of a nationwide effort to reimagine worship and prayer for children across diverse faith communities.
